What is a Visual Resume?

A Visual Resume is a highly effective, comprehensive new marketing tool which includes your video or picture in addition to Word or PDF resume, personalized keywords and short bio.   

            What’s the advantage to creating a video to accompany my resume?

A significant part of the recruiting process is simply seeing and “sizing up” candidates.  By creating a Visual Resume, you exponentially increase your opportunity to be sized up! 

Do I need to hire a professional or download a special program?

Absolutely not!  Creating your profile video is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

1.     Shoot your video with your digital camera, camera phone, or computer webcam

2.     Download it to your desktop

3.     Upload it to your profile 

How long should my video be?

30 seconds.  Think of yourself as a product and your video as the commercial.  (O-F will allow up to 45 seconds for User videos and 60 seconds for Employer videos)

What type of files are accepted?

-Video: MP4, MOV, AVI and WMV

-Resume: Word or PDF

-Photo: JPG or GIF

            Can you tell me more about O-F profiles?

We have four specialized profile types created to meet the needs of every User. 

The first two types are our College and At-Large profiles, which allow you to:

-Create a Visual Resume

-Search dedicated job postings

(Those which employers have targeted for view by specific profile groups only)

-Be proactively searched for by keyword and regularly reviewed by employers

-Conveniently insert your Visual Resume link into other resumes, projects and online profiles

-Easily search Single Job postings

            Our Employee profile offers all the benefits of the College/At-Large profile, plus the ability to:

                        -Review colleagues and other professional associates

                        -Receive feedback from others who have worked with you

                        -Actively build connections within your organization

                        -Create a reputable, aesthetically engaging, professional presence online

Our Employer profile allows you to:

                        -Review candidates’ Profiles and Visual Resumes

What are Quickies?

A Quickie is a single job posting, short-term gig (3 month developer) or one-time need posted by the employer or resource seeker.  As the name implies, Quickies are active for a period of 7 days and are not governed by registrations.

Why should my organization create a profile?

Our Employer Profiles are easy to manage and extremely versatile.  O-F Employer Profile tools allow you to upload promotional videos, view as many Visual Resumes as you like and target positions to specific Communities or User Groups so you only hear from the candidates you want.

What if I’m not in the market for a new job?

There are still plenty of things to do with O-F!  You can create a Company profile and use the application as a connection tool.  You can also stop by weekly to check out Facey’s Journal or Office Recess!  Or shoot an intro video as a branding tool…it never hurts to build your brand!

Why not just use Monster or CareerBuilder?

It’s our attempt at a little Dilbert-esque office humor!  Unlike Facey, the Office Recess characters are actually based on real life personalities.
